This is a dedicate thread for the Blade SR. I just got one and I know a few other people here have too. Let's share. Good things to post here: * Transmitter setups: DX6i and DX7, cyclic expos and cp/throttle curves * Alternative rotor blades * Alternative LiPos * Tail motor: brushless alternative * Scale fuselages (e.g. Darthdrk has some that will apparently fit darthdrk.4t.com/photo3_3.html ) * Interesting photos and video clips

Good idea. I'll see if Dave can consolidate all the info so far. Or , if that's not possible, maybe we can use an existing thread as the dedicated.
Let me check with Dave.

Hey Cubu Like Solitaire said it is a good ideal to have a dedicated thread for the SR as it is new to us all.
At this time I am not able to do what Sol has suggested, combine threads. It is not a feature that Proboards has now but they do plan to have it in the future.
What I would like to do if you don't mind is to take one of the threads that are already started and move it over here in place of this one so people do not have to re-write what is already here.
Let me know what you think.

Should I go first then?lol...
I have an SR from E-flite. Very fun little heli.
I have it bound to a DX7 radio. The stock TX is a nice one but not very many set up options. It has dual rates. One with tons of expo and one pretty standard one.
The DX7 settings are a little different. The swash mix in the radio is backwards to what I'm used to. AILE -60 ELEV -60 PIT -60
Servo reversing...Aleron and rudder are reversed.Everything else normal.
I reduced the rudder travel limit to 65% in each direction to get a more solid tail in a hover.
The gyro gain is at 70%. I don't use rate mode as it is just too light.
I had to adjust the proportional dial on the ESC. That controls the tail motor speed in relation to throttle. CW speeds it up and CCW slows it down. It depends on if it yaws right or left which way to adjust it. The directions are clear and simple in the manual.
It comes with a 15C 3S lipo and I have a Turnigy 25C 3S lipo as a second.I'll be getting a few more of those.lol...
I have upgraded the main blades to Blade CP Pro II blades. They are one third the weight of stock.
The dampeners in the head are sooooooo soft. The feathering shaft moves in the head almost as freely as the flybar. That adds to stability and takes away from response.
There are two sets of flybar weights and I recommend removing them before you try any aerobatics.I learned the hard way. I also suggest the red canopy as the blue one disappears in the sky.

Cruisin around the yard. All stock with the DX7 radio and above listed settings. This flight used 687mA of the stock 1000mAh lipo.

Since Ernie has jumped on this thread I have decided to leave it as it is.

The stock battery has to be very very close to the servo for balance. The new battery I got makes for much better balance and it's not close to the servo at all. Canopy goes on better too.

Interesting. I imagine you get bigger bursts of raw power with the 25C lipo? I noticed straight away that the stock battery had to be _all_the_way_forward_ on mine to get the right balance. I've also tried a Flightmax 1300mAh/15C that is about the same mass but shorter and wider like your Turnigy battery. I'm actually rather relieved not to have a molded compartment for the battery (Raygun will tell you my experience is modding coaxials for outdoor use so far). I've since looked around for some lipos that will work (maybe even better than stock). This person is selling packs of TWO 1000mAh/20C lipos for £10 with free delivery from Hong Kong. They are so cheap, if they turn out to junk I won't care: cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270528154949&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT

Hey,for those of you who don't have an SR.... When we say they have soft dampeners in the head,I don't think you are getting it.
I mean SOFT....
