Took off into the back parking lot, as the EDF passed up the building, it hit a crosswind and pushed into the trees. I wanted more altitude before I climbed but not enough. I thought I was in front of the trees, but NOPE. It's still up there. Attachments:

I took my hobbyzone super cub out for a flight today but it was too windy to fly. My helicopters would never be able to handle the wind if my airplane cant.

Dave, you just gonna 'ditch' that plane? ;D I got 4 more packs today on the BlueRayPE. It was a bit warmer today, 78 degrees and winds about 8 mph, so was still nice flying weather. I don't know how you guys fly in really cold weather. Wife didnt come, so no video. Too many people out today, I love when people walk right into the area I am flying with out thinking twice I am in a HUGE open area, and they will walk right past me, with in 10 ft, while I am trying to fly. Id love to buzz over someone's head but afraid it would turn out really bad...lol!!

...Lot's of questions afterwards. Such as, "How can someone that old even see that thing, much less fly it?" ;D

I gave them a play by play recount of the game against the cowboys. I did, to demonstrate the results, 33 victory rolls and 3 nosedives. ;D ;D Oh, and the guy that came out of his house jumping up and down like a kid when he saw my airforce on the ice went into Hobbyzone and bought himself a Super Cub. Yeah! Happy landings

David, If you haven't got it down yet, take a fishing rod with 20lb test and a good size sinker and try to hook a branch close, but not too close, to the plane and shake it down. Sounds like you suffer from a bit of a depth perception problem as I do. Last fall I did a perfect landing into a 50 gal plastic garbage can that I COULD HAVE SWORN was at least 20 ft. behind the plane. Oh, well, thats why god invented gorilla glue. ;D Happy landings

I was turning down wind and with a bit of a cross wind and did not want to stall it. It was about 100 yards off to my right and misjudged the trees. It's still up there but I have my Bow & Crossbow with me along with fishing rod and some thin line to try and shake the tree branches. Too close to population to try to shoot the branches off with a rifle.

got it about 3' lower. It's nose up w/ the tail just barely caught in some short brances. That allows me to take a side shot w/ the bow and I"ll probably have it down next week if the wind does not do it for me over the weekend. Attachments:

Wow, does not look so bad in the first pic, the second really shows just how high up it really is. How about just cutting down the tree.... .....I'm sure someone could use some firewood .... LOL at the no fly zone

The wife and I went with another couple on an out-back ice-fishing trip. Packed up the Ski-Doos and fishing sleds. At daybreak we were 20 miles in the backwoods to a secluded lake in hopes of catching some Northern Pike. We set out our tip-ups and built a fire. It was a very nice day,,,,sunny and about 30 degrees at mid-day. Everyone was having their packed lunches when I started tinkering around with the Ski-Doo,,,my wife asked what I was doing,,,,,well,,,unbeknownesed to her,,,I had packed my Tx and my T-Rex 250 SE in the saddle-bags of the Ski-Doo,,,,OH YEA!!!! I only had 3 batteries but it was SWEET. Can't beat that with a stick,,,out in the middle of nowhere,,doing a little fishing and flying my heli!! We caught about a dozen nice pike,,,but who cares,,,LOL,,,,I was FLYING!!!!

I've been flying out on the ice a lot this winter too. It's great to have all that open space with no obstacles to consider. Well, I guess I could fly into an Ice Shanty or a snowmobile, but I'd have to work at it really hard. ;D
Happy landings
